Australian Record Labels

Hello, and welcome to australianrecordlabels.com. Here you’ll find assorted listings of records released in Australia, roughly covering the period 1955-1980. You’ll find both major and minor labels grouped by the record company releasing them, 78’s, 45’s, EP’s and LP’s – the result of many years of trying to document Australia’s cultural history and legacy. Also, you will find other music related stuff, which will be of interest to someone, I hope!

Yes, this site is for the trainspotters, but also for fans, collectors, discographers, and record historians. It aims to complement existing information such as globaldogproductions.com. It’s by no means exhaustive or complete, and partly reflects my own musical interests. There are many gaps, but at the risk of waiting forever in the vain hope of finding that last missing entry, some information is better than none!

Regards,

MdL

  1. Dear MdL

I was digging through some old vinyl and have found a single from the AMCO label in Sydney by Harry Coxon, Bless This House bw These Hands.

I can find no trace of it on the web.

Would you have any idea on its history?

    Have a great day

    Scott

    • Hi Scott, Sounds like a bit of a mystery. Could it be related to the petrol company? It might also have been a one-off custom issue recorded by Mr Coxon. Are there any numbers inscribed in the wax? That might give a clue on which company pressed it.
      Regards,

      Michael
